Toolkits

I was one of the students in my school to go to the Toolkits on the 20th of May.

If you don't know what toolkits are, it is when some schools go to one school and a there are people that present from different schools. There where three people that presented from my school and the people who presented go to a class that they got told to go to so then people who picked that presentation goes to that class. But the day after the people that where going to the Tool-kits had to pick witch one they wanted to go to. For the first session I went to coding Minecraft and after each toolkit You get to have a 15 minutes break

Coding Minecraft was very fun for me. Coding Minecraft was when we went to a site called hour of code then searched for the coding Minecraft. If you don't know how to code there will be a video or and speech bubble the will help you in each level.

After the break I headed to a Toolkit that was how to remove you back ground.  So it was simpler that I thought. So first We went to a site called Remove.bg then you insert the picture that you want to remove the background of. Then you download it on your chrome book and that was that Tool-kits.

In the last session I did Book Creator it was basically just making a book on a google slide but it was still fun. My book that I made was about a samurai.

Spark Arena Trip

Today the 17 of May Waikowhai's Year 6 students went to Spark Arena. Brendon Hines was the one who had organised this trip for us and 2 other school, it was free!!!. There was 3 activities that we did there. There was Happy Place, Sounds Fun and Van Gogh exhibit. We went to happy place first.

The first activity we did was Happy place it was very very fun. First thing that we did in the Happy Place was the ball pit. 4 people jumped in together and then the teachers took some pictures of us jumping in to the ball pit. I was surprised how deep it was it was like the height of my friend Tayszar. The second thing that we did in the happy place was the slide. After that we took some pictures in rooms and then we got to my favorite part of the happy place. It was like a dome and there was something like a a lot of fans under the floor and then when we went in and there was confetti was flying every where. 

The next activity that we did was sounds fun. It was where we got to play with the launch pads. When we got to go to do the launch pad we had to look at the computer because there was a yellow line that would go past a block and when the yellow goes on the block you had to press that block. There was also trumpets that we got to play for fun. There even a electric drum that he got to have a turn on. 

The finally activity that we did before having and lunch and going back to school the Van Gogh exhibit it was a dark room were to shows his arts. It also had words on the walls about his life.

Swimming at Cameron Pools

In Te Waka Ako we have been going to Cameron pools for swimming lessons. We started going this term.  At Cameron pools we got split in to 3 groups. In my group I have Paige, Daniel, Marcus, Tainui, Hazel, Tehani and Amara. In my group we only use half a swimming Lane. It is very fun swimming there for me. My 2 favorite way of swimming for me is free style and back strock. The day that we go to Cameron pools are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We take a bus to the pools. We normally use the board to help us do do the technique then we put the board up on the bench and try with out it. For the next few day we are looking at water safety

In School Wire Trenches

Yesterday the  14th of April Te Waka Ako had a different day at school. The teachers
put string on furniture and if we put our head over the string we lost a life. We had to crawl everywhere we go. We were not allowed out but you are only allowed out if you needed to go toilet or  a good reason. The only time were where allowed out was when it was lunchtime and morning tea but we had to eat in class under the wires/string it was very, very funny because the teachers got the nerf guns out and started to shoot us when we were eating. We also had a basic facts test under the string and the teachers were playing gun shots sounds on the speaker to see how well we did. One of the task that they gave us was pretending that we were at war and to send a letter home so we had to write the. Letter here is my letter that  I wrote

Dear mum it's not going well here bodies on the battlefield, gunshots coming from every angle.

I am still in war in Gallipoli. It's not fun here that's what I can tell you. Say hi to Amaya, Kobe and Dad for me.  Love you from Daiki

Another task that we did was a Picture dictation it was about what happened to the ANZAC at Gallipoli in World War 1 here is a picture of my Picture dictation

Lego Workshop

 Hi Bloggers i forgot to post this as last year

Hauraki did there lego workshop last week. I was so excited to go and do the lego workshop. Before we started to play we got into groups of 4 but one group had to have 3 so first me, Jihu and Caja went to go and make a star and it was fun. I had no idea how to make a star but at the end I made one. Then next we went to go make a spaceship and I thought that this would be more fun and it was 😁. At the end I made it but then it broke, but I did not really care because the people who were running it at our school said you can break another person's creation you the parts. After that we needed to switch again then the next one looked so, so boring because we had to make the layers of the earth. Ok now we got to choose what we wanted to do but I did not want to do anything so I just sat around watching and at the end the people who was running it gave prizes to people with good creations.

Slip and slide and swimming!!!

Hi Bloggers I forget to post this last year

Yesterday, the 9th of December the senior syndicate had a awesome day, we did slip and slide and swimming in the pool. First we go split into groups of three and then in half, my group went to the slip and slide first and the cool thing about that was that I was hoping to do slip and slide is well. First we got in a single file line. When I went I ended up going slow because I had no run up. But when I saw one of the people going they were going fast and was confused because even she did not have a run and she still went fast.  A little after the teacher let us go in twos for the slip in slide, I was partners with one of my friend and when it was our turn we decided that we should race and  it ended up being..... a tie. Then I decided that we can pull then back so that I could win. But that did not end up happening and my opponent won. So then I changed partener ot my other friend Jihu and but lucky for him he lost and I took victory. Then one of my friends told me to race another person and goes super fast. His name was Jacob. I thought he win because he always flying over the mattress that was meant to stop people from flying but he just like superman!!! As I thought he won. After our turn was over on the slip and slide we went to the teacher that was holding the hose so we could get all of the soup off us, Then we got into the pool and me and Jihu(Friend of mine)Played tag with some of the other people in the pool. But it started to get boring so we played and game called brawl stars in the pool, but then it got boring so just did who could hold their breath for the longest and I think I came second. A little later we did some sciming in the pool with a rings and plastic dicics. Then we got out of the pool and we went to play. That was all we did for the slip and slide and some swimming in the pool.

Jonty and Choc / By Vince Ford personal response

 Konichiwa Bloggers

My class Hauraki has been reading this novel Jonty and Choc. The best bit at the start of the book is when they had a water balloon fight at the end of the year and in the red balloons they put sugar in it as well as water. They threw the red balloons only at the Principal. Our teacher made a google docs that was a personal response. If you don't know what a personal response has different sections like one of them was what did you not like near the start. But you fill in all of them but we wait until we are in the middle of the book them we fill in all of the sections again and we do the same until we get to the end of the book. Here is a personal response that I did on the book.
