Last Day of school ! ! !

Today is a sad day because it is the last day of school and the years sixs last day at waikowhai primary school because they are going to the intermediate, and two teachers are leaving this year 2019. Yesterday the 19th of December we had a leaving assembly for the year sixes and other kid in the school that is leaving. In the assembly there were two mayn funny bits, the first one was when the year fives were singing there own made rap about the hole of the year sixes and the last one was when the teachers danced to there song that is very old called old town road it was funny because  Mrs Daily had a fake beard and a fake mustache. But the favorite part of the assembly was when the year sixes was doing a dance to the greatest by six60.

Day 3 SLJ

Today we have got another SLJ activity. This one is about sporty players and we got 3 choices number 1 was about what would your superpower, number 2 was imagine that you are leBron James or steven adams and number 3 choice was, think about your dream job.who do you think can help you achieve this dream? and what could they do to you. I chose number one and the superpowers that I would have is.

• Be able to turn in to any character in one piece

I would have this super power because then I can turn into Monkey d. Luffy and rozdolo zolo and all the other skilled charters in the book and movie.

• Be able to turn invisible and whatever I touch when I am invisible It will also turn invisible

I would have this super power because I can go no other people's computer and then they will think that someone is hacking.  

• I would be invisible or get unhurtable

I would have this super power because then when I am in WWE I wont get hurt and I will be the most popular WWE player and if someone tries to hurt me in the school nothing that they do to make me hurt wont hurt.

A poster about a wetapunga

On the 3rd of December we made a poster about the wetapunga. We told facts about the wetapunga on the poster that we made. We also had to use a background that linked to the wetapunga and we also put pictures of the wetapunga. Did you know that a wetapunga is one  of the 17 species of weta?

Poster for summer learning journey practice

This week we have started the summer learning journey. The summer learning journey is for schools that have chromebook in new zealand. Around 200 or 299 people do the summer learning journey. Last year the people who did it in our school that came in the top three was Sam who came first, and then Maddison that came 2nd and then Jasmine that came third. It mostly about blogging in the summer to keep the learning up.

Below this is the poster that I did about lorde. This was the first activity that we had a go at in class to work on the skills that we are going to need for our summerleaning journey.

Favorite Work From Term 3

Hello Readers,

Today I like to tell you about my favorite work in term 3.

My favorite work that I did was the koru patterning. First we planed our koru patterning in our art books. In the book we planed to rotate, symmetry and translating. Then our class got a pace of paper that was shaped of a square and in the middle of the square  we drawled a koru that could have differences like there maybe more little korus in the outside or the middle. After that we scribble on the back of the paper but there is one thing you have to put the paper on the window so you will be able to see it. Next we got a paper that is hard but not car boad. So now you get the paper and draw lightly but not to light that you cant see it then you can do rotate, symmetry and translating wile you do that on the paper to trace it.then you get vivid to be able to see it.

Inventing our own insect

Hi there,

bloggers on the 3rd of December the whole of Te Ana Ako got to invent their own insect. To be able to make a insect you have to add the body parts the all of the insect has. You need to have a Abdomen which is at the back of the insect's body, antennae plus 2 of them and a Thorax which is in front of the abdomen and maybe 2 stingers and legs. My insect is called a Antillbit.

This is my description of my insect.

My insect lives in the dirt in the forest under the ground and it comes out at morning and night because then they have a chance of not getting eaten by their predators. My insect name is Antillbit. My insect that I made eats ants, caterpillars and cockroaches. This insects predator is bees pray mantis and birds. When it comes to the food it moves silently and fast because their breakfast of dinner might get a way. It has a leaf to camouflage when a predator comes past, it also has claw like a grabbing hook to climb up the tree to look like a leaf. It has a stinger and teeth that are like forks to get their food. It has wings but it can not fly like birds because its wings are weak it uses the wings to jump. Its leg are pretty slack and flexible. And that’s all about my insect that I discovered when I was venturing into forest.

Our experiment of Molecules in Motion

This week we have been working on our own experiment. The whole of Te Ana Ako got to choose their own experiment and got to chose if they wanted buddys or not. My buddys were Me, Tj and Jeremiah. We made a slideshow to do our experiment right. Me and my buddies chose Molecules in Motion. We got that Idea from A book About water experiment. We are so excited to do the experiment.  


We are using different types of liquid like oil food coloring and maple syrup. We choose some liquid with a strong color and a strong tasted and smell than water. 

The equipment we need is:

Water

x3 Jars

food coloring

A pipette

Maple syrup

Oil

Chromebook to see what happens.

Athletics Day

Yesterday on the 19th of November on Tuesday, the whole of Waikowhai Primary School did Athletics Day I enjoyed it. The activities that we did was high jump with Miss Sands, long jump with Miss Jones, sprinting with Miss McGrath,watching the sprints with Mrs Rye, tennis with Mr Rattenberry and shotput with Mrs Butler. Before we got started with the activity we sat in our age group and before that we got numbers on our hand. But instead of when your age was on the day the age when you were on the October the 1st. My number was 8 and I was versing most of my friends. We also had a stick that said your age.

                                                           High Jump and Relay

My favorite part of the athletics was high jump. We got Ms Sands - I loved high jump I was very good and I new that. I thinking I made 1 meter and 2 centimeters. Me and Masi tied 1st. I also liked that house relay it was fun but the most awesomest thing was that Tui was on the lead and Pukeko was just on there last lap as well as Tui and I was so fast the Tui was nearly at the end and I cort up so fast that Pukeko came first and Pukeko was so happy and so was I. That was my favuorite relay that I have ever done.In the next relay it was the middle school girl and they came first, the junior boys in pukeko came third I think, and the journey girls in Ruru came first, In the senior boys group Kea came first because they used one of the fastest person that made the relays and another fast person in Kea for the last and it worked and finally the girls in the senior, and the winner of the senyer girls was Kea !!!

Pacifica Mamas

On Wednesday the 13th of November to whole of the middle school in Waikowhai when to the Corbans trip. We did drums, made leis and did a dance at the end.

 My favourite part of the session was  the drums because we got to play. The other part that I like about the drums was we got to see who was better out of the girls and boys. Unfortunately boys lost and girls won, just because we carried on when we were meant to stop. Did you know people used the drums like a bell to send a message to tell the people in the village that something bad is happening and they used them as protectors of the village in the past. We used the Pacifica drums. The drums that we got to use were a log drum and shark drum. It is called that  because the part that you hit is made out of shark skin.

 I also like the dance. Fox told us the way to dance in a Hawaiian way. Jacinda told the girls how to dance in Hawaiian as well. For the boys we dance like the Cook Island way and the girls Jacinda did it the Samoan way. I enjoyed dancing. It was so fun doing the dance.

 Finally leis, it was fun and what I learnt was that when you make leis you have to give it to somebody. We put flowers and straws on the string in a pattern and then once we were done we tied the ends together. I am giving my lei to my Uncle Tony because he is in the hospital.

We had lots of fun as you can tell.

My report about rugby union

In class we have been writing a report about something I like. I decided to write about rugby union because I love to play rugby. First I planed my big idea, then I researched the information I needed for my topic. Then I wrote each paragraph about each new idea.
